I found the Digital Youth Research group through a post by danah. I need to look closer, but at the moment I am blogging in the dark from a bedroom at the top of my partners parents’ home!. The project looks interesting. Maybe something to check out when I am in SF in the fall…

Really looking forward to trying out this service when I get my iphone (sooon, I hope). It seems like it has the potential of being really cool, but I hope they change their examples to something more creative then watching unsuspecting people walking by in the office. Even if they are not stating it outright, they are leaving users with the impression that this is to be used for ‘covert’ video rather than creative streaming. The implications could lead to more scaremongering about using video online. On the other hand, using this as a tool for citizen journalists could be powerful.
Another interesting (possibly) tool I found was Tube.tv. It gathers the top 10 most viewed videos from a variety of sites. For me, this is not particuarily interesting as it does not really work with the way I watch. I tend to follow links from videos and users I find interesting. What I did enjoy about this site is finding sites of which I was previously unfamiliar. It may, however, be useful as a technorati type of tool – just to put your finger on the pulse of the vlogosphere.
